As we celebrate International Women's Day (IWD) 2025 at Henry Boot, we’re taking the opportunity to reflect on the progress we have made towards gender equality and to recognise the work that still needs to be done.

This day is an important reminder of how far women have come in society and how much further there is to go. It’s a time to unite women across businesses, celebrate their achievements, and encourage them to speak about their experiences and feel like they have a voice.
Sarah GillIWD is a global celebration of the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women, and marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. At Henry Boot, we recognise the significance of this day and the impact it has on our employees and the wider community. By celebrating IWD, we aim to foster a culture of inclusivity and support, where every woman feels valued and empowered.
The impact of SHEnetWORKS
At Henry Boot, we are proud to have SHEnetWORKS, which was set up to promote networking across the group and create informal opportunities for women to establish new relationships, build peer connections, and grow a support network organically. SHEnetWORKS is dedicated to fostering a sense of community and support among women at Henry Boot, providing a platform for them to connect, share experiences, and learn from one another.
Over the next couple of years, SHEnetWORKS will focus on running events that promote women working together across the group and creating opportunities to learn and develop new skills. These events will be designed to help women progress through the business or flourish within their current roles. Whether it's through workshops, seminars, or networking events, SHEnetWORKS aims to provide valuable resources and opportunities for personal and professional growth.
We will continue to share content and resources to allow women to grow personally and professionally to achieve their goals. This includes providing access to training programmes, subject experts, and other development initiatives that can help women advance in their careers. By offering these resources, SHEnetWORKS aims to empower women to take charge of their professional development and reach their full potential.
Creating a more inclusive future
As we look forward, we want to foster a culture of inclusivity and support within Henry Boot. We encourage everyone to take this day as an opportunity to discuss the culture across the business and how we can all contribute to a more inclusive workplace.
Take this day as an opportunity to grab a coffee with another woman within the business, whether that's on Teams or in person, to see how you can support each other, share experiences of working in the industry and at Henry Boot, and discuss how we can improve women's experiences in the business.
IWD 2025 is a day to celebrate, reflect on existing challenges, and commit to progress in the years ahead. At Henry Boot, we remain dedicated to championing the success of women and driving our initiatives, and will continue to support and uplift each other to help achieve a fair and inclusive workforce for all.
